Prof. Dr. Suavi Aydın is a Professor at Hacettepe University’s Cultural Anthropology Department. Born in 1962 in Ankara, he holds a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from Hacettepe University. His research focuses on ethnicity, nationalism, historical anthropology, and the study of tribes/communities in the Ottoman Empire and modern Turkey. He has authored/co-authored numerous books including Modernleşme ve Milliyetçilik (1993), Mardin Tarihi (2000), and İmparatorluğun Son Aşiret Sayımı (2021).
