Størker T. Moe

Størker T. Moe is an Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), specializing in biorefinery processes and bio-based chemicals. Research focuses on sustainable utilization of renewable resources for materials, chemicals and energy production.

Core research areas include:

• Physical chemistry of plant polysaccharides
• Pretreatment and hydrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass
• Biorefinery process development
• Wood chemistry with emphasis on polysaccharides

Publications demonstrate consistent focus on biomass conversion technologies, particularly steam explosion processes, organosolv pretreatment methods, and acid hydrolysis techniques for value-added chemicals. Recent work emphasizes integrated biorefinery approaches for co-producing chemicals and biofuels.

Teaches courses in biofuels and biorefineries (TKP4180) and leads interdisciplinary projects including 'Mindre klimautslipp med biodrivstoff' through NTNU's Experts in Teamwork program. Research conducted in collaboration with PFI (Paper and Fiber Research Institute).
