Ståle Dingstad is a tenured Professor at the University of Oslo's Department of Scandinavian Literature within the Faculty of Humanities. His research focuses on Norwegian literature, literary history, book history, Ibsen studies, and Hamsun studies. He has contributed to critical editions of Henrik Ibsen's works and explored topics such as textual criticism, archival studies, and cultural memory.
Key research interests include the analysis of Norwegian literary figures like Ibsen and Hamsun, the historical context of literary works, and the methodologies of textual scholarship. His recent work examines antisemitism in Norwegian literature, the Modern Breakthrough movement, and the book historical dimensions of seminal texts like Markens Grøde.
Publications span peer-reviewed articles in journals like Nordlit and Ibsen Studies, as well as edited volumes on literary historiography and Nordic literature. He is a core member of the Flux research group studying book history and reception in Nordic literary studies.
