Stijn Masschelein is a Senior Lecturer at the UWA Business School's Accounting and Finance department. He holds a PhD from Leuven University (2010) and previously served as an Assistant Professor at Tilburg University (2010-2011). His research focuses on performance measurement, incentive contracting, and decision-making dynamics, particularly in interorganizational contexts. Key interests include the interplay of delegation, incentives, and risk preferences in manufacturing and service sectors.
Major projects include studies on decision rights in international hotel chains, enabling controls in learning processes, and transfer pricing negotiations. He has secured grants from AFAANZ (e.g., 2012 and 2019 Control & Learning grants) and received the Ahern Family Award (UWA Business School).
