Stig Erlend Bjønness

Stig Erlend Bjønness is an Associate Professor in Health Sciences at the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Stavanger. He leads the MRPMAS01/MRPMAS02 and MRP110 courses in the Master of Substance Use and Mental Health program and mentors students at both bachelor's and master's levels.

• Research Areas: Mental Health, Child and Adolescent Healthcare, Minority Youth, Quality and Resilience in Healthcare Services, User Involvement, Qualitative Methods.
• Projects: InvolveMENT (digital mental health services for Indigenous and minority youth), RiB (resilience in child mental health services), The Bench (drug scenes in urban spaces).

Publication Trends: Bjønness focuses on participatory approaches in youth mental healthcare, emphasizing shared decision-making, cultural adaptation of services, and qualitative insights into user experiences. Recent work addresses digital health integration for marginalized youth populations.
