معرفی
Stevo Bozinovski serves as Professor of Computer Science at South Carolina State University (SCSU), where he has been a distinguished faculty member for over 20 years. He coordinates the Biocomputing and Bioinformatics and Robotics and Embodied Intelligence minors, and directs the Center for Robotics and Embodied Intelligence.
Education:
- 1973: BSc in Computer Science, University of Zagreb, Croatia
- 1975: MSc in Electronics, University of Zagreb, Croatia
- 1982: PhD in Computer Science, University of Zagreb, Croatia
- 1993: Diploma in Robotics, Krems Academy of Science, Austria
- 1993: Diploma in Artificial Intelligence, University of Brno, Czech Republic
Dr. Bozinovski's research bridges computer science with neurophysiology and robotics. His pioneering work established foundational contributions in brain-computer interfaces (first EEG-controlled robot in 1988), embodied intelligence, and biocybernetics. Current interests focus on neuroinformatics, brain-robot interaction, and the intersection of number theory with neural signals, reflecting his unique integration of mathematical rigor with biological systems. His labs produce innovations in robotic distance learning and neural interface applications.
Recent publications (2015-2022) demonstrate consistent advancement in brain-computer interfaces and transfer learning, building on his historical contributions to reinforcement learning. His work shows an evolutionary trajectory from theoretical neural networks to practical neuro-robotic systems, with increasing emphasis on cross-disciplinary applications in medical science and cognitive modeling.
Scientific Recognition:
- Royal Society of London recognition (2019) for neural interface breakthroughs
- World's first Internet-controlled robot for distance learning (2002)
- World's first robotic selfie achievement (2002)
As coordinator of specialized minors and head of interdisciplinary labs, Dr. Bozinovski actively mentors students through robotics education initiatives and neurophysiology research. His leadership in the Center for Robotics and Embodied Intelligence demonstrates sustained grant-funded research in brain-robot systems, evidenced by world-first demonstrations in remote robotics education and neural control mechanisms.
The Center for Robotics and Embodied Intelligence operates two specialized laboratories: the Lab for Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Biocybernetics (Computer Science program) and the Lab for Medical Science and Neurophysiology (Biology program). These facilities support his research in neural interfaces, embodied cognition, and biocomputing, fostering collaboration between computer science and life sciences disciplines.
