Steve Kopera

Steve Kopera serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Welding within the School of Materials Science & Engineering Technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

His academic credentials include a B.S. in Welding and Fabrication Engineering Technology and an A.A.S. in Welding Technology, both earned at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Dr. Kopera commenced his academic career at the institution as Adjunct Faculty in 2012 before transitioning to a full-time Assistant Professor role in 2013. His pre-academic career spanned diverse industrial welding positions across manufacturing and shipbuilding sectors, including JPW Design and Manufacturing, Big B Manufacturing, Krando Metal Parts, Aker Philadelphia Shipyard, and Woolever Brothers Transportation.

His research and pedagogical focus centers on advancing welding engineering practices, metal fabrication methodologies, and materials joining technologies to bridge industry demands with academic training. Kopera emphasizes hands-on curriculum development to prepare students for immediate workforce integration in fabrication and manufacturing fields.
