Steve Bowkett is a Senior Lecturer in Architecture at London South Bank University (LSBU) since 1990. His work bridges academia and practice, with a focus on innovative pedagogy and design methodologies. He has taught at Oxford Brookes, Greenwich Universities, and the Bauhaus School of Design in Germany. His research critiques conventional teaching approaches, emphasizing creative thinking through strategies like 'Cybernetics, Synectics, and Serendipity.' He is an External Examiner for Cardiff University’s Welsh School of Architecture.

His current project, a cross-laminated timber Parish Pavilion in Great Missenden, explores sustainable design near historic sites, aiming to inform English Heritage policies. A third book, Archidoodle Home, will further explore design pedagogy.
Professional Work: Projects include a community-focused Church Sunday School building, seeking Lottery and commercial grants. Collaborations with English Heritage and the C of E highlight his engagement with heritage preservation and policy.
