Sterre Hoenderop

Sterre Hoenderop is a Lecturer-Researcher at the Excellence and Innovation in Education Lectorate of HZ University of Applied Sciences since 2020. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogical Sciences from the University of Amsterdam, with fieldwork in Mumbai, India. Her career includes roles as a pedagogue, psychomotor child therapist in private practice and youth care sectors.

Her research focuses on strengthening resilience among youth care professionals through meaningful work, supported by a NWO PhD grant (2024). She investigates learning networks across education, professional practice, and research to promote healthy youth care systems. Key projects include ‘Resilience of Youth Professionals through Meaning in Work’, addressing sector pressures like rising client numbers and complex care demands.

Advising and grants: Active PhD researcher since 2022, funded by NWO. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams in the Joint Research Center Zeeland. Her work bridges educational theory and practical youth care, emphasizing well-being for both professionals and clients.
