Stephen Tsung-Han Sher is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. His teaching focuses on computer architecture, software requirements engineering, and human-centered computing. His research applies ethnographic methods to study human-computer interaction, computer-supported cooperative work, and CS education.
He earned a doctorate in Informatics from Indiana University Bloomington's Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, specializing in Human Computer Interaction Design (HCI/d). His doctoral work examined video game livestreamers' practices to inform livestream interaction design under Norman Su’s Authentic User Experience Lab. He holds undergraduate degrees in computer engineering and computer science from the University of Southern California.
He directs the Ethnography Research Group at Rose-Hulman and can be contacted via sher@rose-hulman.edu.
