Stephen Scholte is a Research Assistant and School Tutor at the SPRU (Science Policy Research Unit) within the University of Sussex Business School. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Science and Technology Policy Studies at SPRU, University of Sussex.
His educational background includes:
- MSc in Theory and History of Psychology (Cum Laude) from the University of Groningen
- BSc in Psychology (Cum Laude) from the University of Groningen
- BMus in Composition from Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne
Stephen's research focuses on psychological classification systems, psychopharmacology, and science and technology studies. His current work examines serendipity in pharmaceutical research for psychological disorders as part of the Serendipity In Research and Innovation (SIRI) project led by Ohid Yaqub. He has developed expertise in research methodology through his work on categorization and relationships between instances and generalization in psychological theory.
As an educator, Stephen teaches statistics, research methods, and academic skills to undergraduate students at the University of Sussex. His interdisciplinary background spanning psychology, music composition, and science policy provides him with a unique perspective in both research and teaching.
