Stephen Mueller is an Associate Professor at the Huckabee College of Architecture at Texas Tech University. His research explores novel applications of spatial technologies to analyze, engage, and transform urban environments, particularly in binational contexts.

Stephen Mueller's work focuses on urban geography, border studies, and digital humanities, leveraging automation, sensing, visualization, and simulation techniques. He examines the codependence between global security complexes and urban morphologies in the developing world.
Mueller co-authored FRONTS: Security and the Developing World (2020), analyzing security-environment intersections, and received the GSAPP Incubator Prize for irradiated shade research. His awards include:
