Stephen Lusch is an Associate Professor at the University of Kentucky, affiliated with the Gatton College of Business and Economics. He joined UK in 2024, holding a PhD in management with an accounting emphasis and law minor from the University of Arizona, an MSA with a tax emphasis from the University of Notre Dame, and a BBA in accounting from Texas Christian University.
His research focuses on taxation, with secondary interests in public finance, business ethics, and international accounting policy. His work has appeared in journals such as the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Public Finance Review. He currently serves as an editor for Accounting Horizons.

At UK, he teaches tax courses in undergraduate and Master of Accounting programs, and previously led travel courses on international accounting and accounting policy. His expertise spans financial accounting, tax compliance, and policy analysis.
