Stephen L. Vargo is a distinguished Professor of Market Systems and Siegfried Centennial Chair of Marketing and Supply Chain Management at the University of Oklahoma’s Price College of Business. He holds a Ph.D., M.S., and B.A. in Marketing, Social Psychology, and Psychology, all from the University of Oklahoma. Vargo’s research focuses on advancing marketing theory through service-dominant logic, service ecosystems, and complexity science. He has published over 125 articles in top journals like the Journal of Marketing and Journal of Consumer Research, earning recognition as Clarivate’s 'Highly Cited Researcher' for nine years and ranking No.5 globally in marketing career impact. His work bridges micro and macro marketing perspectives, addressing institutional complexity and innovation dynamics in service systems.
