Stephen L. Brown

Stephen L. Brown is a Professor in the Department of Population Health at Sam Houston State University's College of Health Sciences. He coordinates the Public Health & Health Science Majors and the Health Communications Certificate program. With over 20 years of teaching experience, he instructs courses in public health, community health, health promotion, mental/emotional health, and research methods at undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels.

His research focuses on health promotion, stress management, adolescent health literacy, and mental/emotional health education, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications and two authored books. His recent articles examine prison health disparities, university student health behaviors, and economic evaluation frameworks in public health education.
