Stephen Jankiewicz

Stephen Jankiewicz is an Associate Professor at Temple University's College of Liberal Arts, specializing in European and Global History, Japanese Culture, and Fiction Writing. He teaches in the Intellectual Heritage Program and has been affiliated with Temple University Japan’s Tokyo and Kyoto campuses.

• Education: Ph.D. in History from Rutgers University

His research bridges historical analysis with creative fiction, examining themes like social class in 19th-century London and cross-cultural dynamics during imperial eras. Recent publications in the Journal of Social History and Journal of World History reflect his focus on marginalized communities and cultural exchange. He also authored the young adult fantasy novel Families of Fire.

Jankiewicz contributes to the academic community through courses like Intellectual Heritage I/II, Modern World History, and an honors seminar exploring immersive media cultures such as roleplaying, manga, and video games.
