Dr. Stephen Ingram is a Lecturer (Teaching Focused) in Philosophy and Programme Director for the BA Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at the University of Manchester. His research focuses on moral philosophy, metaphysics, epistemology, and philosophy of mind. He holds a PhD from the University of Sheffield (2016), an MA from the same institution (2012), and a BA from Durham University (2011).
His research interests include robust moral realism, the subject matter of morality, Rossian moral theory, and the aims of education. He has published a monograph on moral realism and contributed to debates on moral error theory and epistemic expressivism. Teaching responsibilities include courses on philosophy of mind, ethics, and PPE topics.
In addition to teaching, Ingram has coordinated undergraduate dissertations (2017–2024) and taught courses such as Introduction to Ethics and Metaphysics. His recent work explores normative arbitrariness, cooperative intuitionism, and the integration of epistemological and moral theories.
