Professor Stephen F King is a renowned physicist at the University of Southampton’s Department of Physics and Astronomy. His research focuses on neutrino physics, beyond the Standard Model theories, and cosmological questions such as dark matter and CP violation. He leads the BSM sub-group within the Southampton High Energy Physics (SHEP) team and coordinates international collaborations like the EU’s Invisibles network, which explores neutrino oscillations and dark matter. His work bridges theoretical models with experimental efforts at the LHC and neutrino detectors.
Key research areas include neutrino mass mechanisms (e.g., the Littlest Seesaw), flavor symmetry groups (e.g., A₄), and Supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model. He collaborates globally, including with the Super-Kamiokande and Sudbury Neutrino Observatory teams. His teaching and mentoring are integral to his role, contributing to training future physicists. Current projects involve multi-Higgs models, dark matter implications, and F-theory unification approaches.
