Stephen Dowden is a Professor of German and Chair of the European Cultural Studies Program at Brandeis University. His research focuses on Modern German Literature, European modernism, comparative literature, and the novel as a form. He holds a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, and degrees from Texas Tech University. His work bridges literary analysis with philosophical inquiry, emphasizing intersections between literature and other art forms.
