Dr. Stephen Clibborn is an Associate Professor in the Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies at the University of Sydney Business School, serving as Co-Director of the Sydney Employment Relations Research Group (SERRG). He holds a Dip Law, MLLR (Sydney), and PhD (Sydney). His research focuses on employer compliance with employment laws, low-waged work regulation, migrant worker rights, and wage theft. He has contributed to over 25 scholarly articles, policy submissions, and media commentary.
Research Interests: Employment relations law, migration policy, wage compliance, temporary migrant labor, civil society regulation, and labor market segmentation. His work addresses systemic gaps between legal frameworks and real-world outcomes.
Teaching: Teaches Workplace Law and Regulation (WORK3206), Employment and the Law (WORK6116), and HRM & IR in Action (WORK6034). His courses bridge theory and practice in labor law and policy.
