معرفی
Dr. Stephen Carter is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Manchester's Division of Informatics, Imaging & Data Sciences. Currently based at the University of Cambridge since 2018, he collaborates with Manchester researchers in Neuroscience and Molecular Imaging. His work focuses on Alzheimer's disease, neuroimaging techniques, and biomarker development. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester (2009) and completed postdoctoral research at Karolinska Institutet (2010–2013).
Research interests include amyloid deposition patterns, astrocyte dysfunction in neurodegenerative diseases, and PET imaging applications. He has contributed to studies on PET scanner optimization and metabolic pathways in Alzheimer's. His collaborative networks include Professors Karl Herholz and Alistair Burns, and institutions like the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre.
Key contributions involve developing biomarker staging systems for preclinical Alzheimer's and analyzing structural/metabolic correlates in Parkinsonian syndromes. His work bridges clinical neurology with advanced neuroimaging methodologies.
