Stephen Anderson is a Lecturer in Classical Languages at New College, University of Oxford, and holds roles such as Senior Tutor and Head of the Classics Department during his 35-year tenure at Winchester. He specializes in Greek and Latin language instruction, epic and lyric poetry, and Roman letter-writing. Anderson contributes to public examining, including chairing the Greek and Latin syllabus committee for Cambridge Pre-U and serving as Chief Examiner in Greek. He is actively involved in academic outreach through tutoring at the JACT Greek Summer School and Cambridge University’s Institute of Continuing Education at Madingley Hall.

Anderson’s publications emphasize educational resources, including collaborative works on Greek and Latin language materials and exam preparation guides. He currently serves as a Vice-President of the Southampton Branch of the Classical Association and on the Editorial Committee of the Bristol Classical Press.
