Stephanie Wang is a Professor of Economics at the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Economics. She holds a PhD from Princeton University, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and dual SB degrees in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and Economics from MIT. She has been a Postdoctoral Scholar at Caltech and a Visiting Associate Professor at Stanford University. Her research focuses on experimental economics, behavioral game theory, political economy, and decision-making under uncertainty. Notable contributions include studies on loss attitudes, projective thinking in strategic contexts, and the impact of social norms on economic behavior. She currently serves as an Associate Editor for journals including European Economic Review and Games and Economic Behavior.
Her work integrates experimental methods to explore topics such as prosocial behavior, cognitive biases in voting, and the role of visual attention in decision-making. Ongoing projects include investigations into social norms influencing female labor force participation and dynamically optimized preference estimation techniques (DOSE). Her research has appeared in top journals like the American Economic Review, Econometrica, and Review of Economic Studies.
