Stephanie Law is an Associate Professor and Norris B. McFarlane Faculty Career Development Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Pennsylvania State University, affiliated with the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. Her research focuses on synthesizing thin films and heterostructures using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) for energy applications, including photonic materials, metamaterials, and semiconductor devices. Her work spans visible to terahertz frequencies, addressing applications such as solar cells, waste heat recovery, and photocatalysis.
Recent achievements include recognition of her graduate student’s research by a national society (2025), and her involvement in IEE seed grants (2024). She leads a research group actively publishing in journals like Advanced Materials and ACS Nano, focusing on topics such as Dirac plasmons, topological insulators, and gradient permittivity materials.
Her research themes integrate experimental and computational approaches, emphasizing epitaxial growth optimization, material characterization, and device applications. Collaborations span nanomaterials synthesis, optical properties of 2D materials, and THz plasmonics, reflecting her interdisciplinary impact in energy and photonics.
