Dr. Stephanie Kotch-Jester serves as an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies in the School of Education at the University of Delaware. She coordinates the Elementary Teacher Education (ETE) program and oversees a vertical field experience model with Appoquinmink and Christina School Districts. Her research focuses on enhancing pre-service teacher development through coteaching, novice teacher support, and student learning assessment.
Dr. Kotch-Jester holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Delaware (2014), an M.Ed. in Instruction (2000), and a B.S. in Education from Clarion University of Pennsylvania (1987). Prior to her current roles, she accumulated 25 years of diverse educational experience, including classroom teaching, science specialization, and instructional leadership roles.
Her professional awards include the University of Delaware Faculty Senate Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Academic Advisement (2003 and 2011). Her work emphasizes practical, collaborative approaches to teacher education, bridging theory and practice through field experiences and community partnerships.
Dr. Kotch-Jester’s advising and grants focus on improving teacher readiness and district collaboration. She has maintained continuous academic engagement at the University of Delaware since 2000, transitioning from Instructor to Assistant Professor in 2017.
