Stephanie John is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing at Swansea University's School of Health and Social Care. She holds a fellowship from the Higher Education Academy and teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs, as well as other healthcare disciplines like osteopathy and audiology. Her clinical expertise includes plastics trauma, burn rehabilitation, and tissue viability. Currently, she leads modules such as “Introduction to Professional Practice” and the pre-registration Master's module “Fundamentals of Nursing.” She also serves as an admissions tutor and clinical placement assessor.
Her research focuses on nursing education, imposter syndrome among nurses, and gender discrimination faced by male nursing students. Notable publications include work on imposter syndrome in the Nursing Times and conference presentations on stigma in nursing education. She has secured grants for collaborative projects, including an Erasmus+ grant for international teaching collaboration and a SALT/SAILS grant exploring stigma perceptions.
Dr. John’s teaching interests span clinical skills, ethics, acute care, and staff welfare. She actively supervises postgraduate dissertations in nursing and healthcare education programs.
