Stephani Myers

Stephani (Nikki) Myers is a Lecturer in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). She holds a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Gifted Education from UCCS, and is currently a PhD student in Educational Leadership, Research, and Policy at the same institution. Her professional roles include:

• Two-term representative on the State Board of Education's Gifted Education State Advisory Committee
• Board governor of the Colorado Academy of Educators for the Gifted, Talented, and Creative (CAEGTC)
• Co-director on the Global Awareness Network for the National Association for Gifted Children

Dr. Myers has extensive experience in educational leadership, having served as the founding director of the Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning (AcademyACL), a K-8 charter school specializing in gifted education in the Pikes Peak Region. She also worked as Dean of Students in Colorado Springs District 11 and oversaw the Colorado Dyslexia Pilot Program as a school principal. Her advocacy includes presentations on recognizing students of color in gifted education and best practices in education.

Her research and professional interests center on gifted education equity, curriculum development, leadership in special education contexts, and teacher support systems.

In addition to her academic role, she actively contributes to state and national conferences, advancing discourse on educational equity and gifted student needs.
