Stephan Weiler is a Professor of Economics at Colorado State University (currently on medical leave) and Founding Director of the Regional Economic Development Institute (REDI@CSU). He holds a PhD from UC Berkeley and advanced degrees from Stanford University. His research focuses on regional economic growth, innovation systems, and policy solutions for rural and urban challenges. He has served as Assistant Vice President and Economist at the Federal Reserve’s Center for the Study of Rural America and was a Fulbright Distinguished Research Chair in 2019. His work bridges academia, government, and industry through collaborations like the Colorado Innovation Network and partnerships with the City-REDI in the UK.
