Professor Stephan Reitzenstein is a faculty member at the Technical University of Berlin's Institute of Solid State Physics, leading cutting-edge research in quantum photonics and semiconductor nanostructures. His work focuses on developing advanced quantum light sources for communication and computing applications.
Research interests center on Quantum Optics and Semiconductor Physics, with specific expertise in quantum dot micropillar lasers, microcavity quantum electrodynamics, and van der Waals heterostructures. Current projects investigate single-photon manipulation, photonic quantum reservoir computing, and spin-controlled quantum emitters, targeting telecom wavelength bands for practical quantum networks.
The research group maintains strong DFG funding including ongoing Research Grants and Priority Programs. Experimental capabilities include nanofabrication facilities (notably an in-situ low-temperature electron beam lithography system) and cryogenic optical characterization setups. The lab actively develops deterministic quantum devices for entangled photon generation and quantum communication infrastructure.
