Stella Ademowo is a Senior Lecturer in Molecular Cell Biology at the College of Science and Engineering. Her research focuses on lipidomics, mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s. She has contributed to studies on carotenoid supplementation, biomarker discovery for inflammatory arthritis, and the role of oxidized phospholipids in chronic conditions.
Key research themes include understanding lipid metabolism in ageing processes, developing biomarkers for disease prediction, and investigating antioxidant mechanisms. Her work bridges basic science with clinical applications, particularly in longevity medicine and nutritional interventions.
Ademowo has collaborated on EU-funded projects, such as the COST action BM1203 on reactive oxygen species (ROS), and has published extensively in high-impact journals like Ageing Research Reviews and Free Radical Biology and Medicine.
