معرفی
Steffen Tiedt is a Junior Research Group Leader and Principal Investigator at the Institute for Stroke and Dementia Research (ISD), Faculty of Medicine, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich. He leads the Tiedt Lab, which focuses on identifying circulating biomarkers in stroke using omics, circadian biology, and precision medicine approaches. He is also a board-certified neurologist and clinician-scientist trained at LMU and Harvard Medical School.
- MD, LMU Munich & Harvard Medical School
- PhD in Neuroscience, Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences, LMU
- Residency in Neurology, LMU
- Board Certification in Neurology (2022)
His research centers on stroke biomarkers, leveraging proteomics, metabolomics, and RNA sequencing to uncover molecular signatures of brain injury. His lab runs the CIRCULAS study, a large-scale cohort with over 2,000 stroke patients, enabling deep phenotyping and serial biosampling. His work bridges bedside-to-bench translation, focusing on circadian rhythms, neurovascular unit biology, and systemic responses to stroke.
The recent publications reveal a strong trend toward multi-omics integration, circadian regulation in stroke, and ultrasensitive biomarker detection using technologies like Simoa. His team also engages in machine learning for patient stratification and international collaboration to advance stroke therapeutics.
Scientific Awards:
- Young Investigator Award, European Stroke Organization (2018)
- Mentor of the Year, LMU Medical Faculty (2019)
- Young Group Leader Award, Corona-Stiftung (2020)
- PRIME Clinician-Scientist Program (DFG/LMU)
- MOMENTE Postdoctoral Excellence Program (LMU)
