Prof. Dr. Steffen Schindler holds the Professorship for Sociology with Focus on Education and Work in the Life Course at the University of Bamberg since October 2016, after serving as a Junior Professor there from October 2013 to September 2016. His research centers on social inequality in educational attainment, transitions from education to labor markets, and labor market returns of education. He previously worked as a researcher at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (2006-2012) and held a post-doctoral scholarship at the University of Trento and the University of Hannover.
