Stefanos Gerardis

Stefanos Gerardis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Western Macedonia. He specializes in advanced manufacturing technologies, particularly in tool design and optimization for aerospace materials, coating properties analysis, and finite element modeling. His research focuses on improving cutting performance through advanced coatings and machining techniques.

Education includes a B.A. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His professional experience includes roles at Sandvik Coromant (UK) and the Institute Laue Langevin (France), where he developed cutting-edge technologies for aerospace and neutron transport applications.

Research interests span PVD coatings, nano-infiltration technology, life cycle assessment of materials, and precision machining. He has published extensively on coating characterization, tool performance, and finite element analysis in journals like Surface and Coatings Technology and Annals of the CIRP.
