Stefanie Stricker

Prof. Dr. Stefanie Stricker is a Chair Holder in German Linguistics at the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies, Otto Friedrich University Bamberg. Her research focuses on historical German linguistics, particularly Old High German and Old Saxon glossography, corpus linguistics, and word formation.

Her current research projects include the digital recording of vernacular vocabulary from the Leges barbarorum (funded by DFG) and indexing Old High German/ Saxon gloss manuscripts. She collaborates with colleagues like Dr. Marco Bruckmeier and Dr. Anette Kremer.

Recent publications analyze gloss manuscripts, medieval texts, and historical word formation. She leads edited volumes on gloss studies and co-authored the Linguistic History Workbook on Contemporary German (2nd ed., 2016).
