Stefanie Nolte is an Honorary Lecturer in Marine Ecosystem Services at the University of East Anglia's School of Environmental Sciences, with affiliations to the Centre for Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences and the Collaborative Centre for Sustainable Use of the Seas. Her research focuses on global change impacts on coastal wetlands, emphasizing biodiversity, ecosystem functions, and carbon sequestration. She holds a PhD in Ecology from the University of Groningen (2014) and an MSc in Biology from Leibniz University Hannover (2008). Prior to her current role, she conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Hamburg (2014–2019) and University of Groningen (2013–2014). Nolte has led projects such as 'Can we restore Blue Carbon?' and 'Assessing the effect of drought on coastal erosion of UK salt marshes,' funded by institutions like CEFAS and the Royal Society. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to climate action and life below water. She actively collaborates internationally, including visits to Fudan University Shanghai and University of Antwerp.
