Stefania Specchia is a Full Professor at the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT) at the Polytechnic University of Turin, specializing in chemical engineering with a focus on sustainable energy technologies. Her academic career spans multiple decades with continuous involvement in doctoral programs since 2009-2010.
Her research interests encompass Direct Methanol Fuel Cells (DMFC), Electrochemistry, Heterogeneous Catalysis, Methane Combustion, Methane Reforming, Oxygen Reduction Reaction, Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFC), and Structured Catalysts. She works within the Green Energy & Engineering research group at DISAT, utilizing specialized laboratories including Gre.En2 Lab 1 and Gre.En2 Lab 2.
Her recent publications focus on sustainable energy conversion technologies, particularly fuel cells and catalytic reactions for clean energy applications. The research trends show strong emphasis on developing efficient catalysts for oxygen reduction, methane combustion in structured materials, and thermoelectric materials characterization.
