Stefania Heim is an Associate Professor of Literature and Director of Graduate Studies in English at Western Washington University. She holds an AB from Harvard College, an MFA from Columbia University, and a PhD from the CUNY Graduate Center. Her research focuses on modern and contemporary poetry, poetics, translation studies, and interdisciplinary literature. She has been recognized with a National Endowment for the Arts Translation Fellowship (2019) and ViceVersa fellowship (2022). Her scholarly essays and translations have appeared in Journal of Modern Literature, Textual Practice, and 21|19. She co-edits Beyond Ourselves, a volume on Muriel Rukeyser, and has authored poetry collections A Table That Goes On for Miles (2014) and HOUR BOOK (2019). She has taught at Columbia, Hunter College, and Deep Springs College, emphasizing language’s role in shaping identity and narrative.
