Stefania Guida

Dr. Stefania Guida is a fixed-term researcher (Ricercatore tempo determinato tipo b) specializing in Dermatology and Venereology (MED/35) at Università Vita Salute San Raffaele (UNISR), where she is part of the teaching staff and works within the Clinical Dermatology Unit directed by Prof. F. Rongioletti. She previously held a similar research position at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia from 2019 to 2022. Dr. Guida is a medical surgeon specializing in Dermatology and Venereology with a PhD in Clinical and Experimental Medicine.

Her research interests focus on advanced diagnostic techniques in dermatology, particularly dermoscopy, videomicroscopy ("mole mapping"), and confocal laser microscopy for skin cancer analysis. She has extensive expertise in identifying risk factors for skin tumors, especially MC1R polymorphisms (melanocortin-1 receptor), which are primary determinants of skin pigmentation. Her work also explores photoaging mechanisms and the role of dermatologists in cosmetology, supported by an extensive international collaboration network.

Dr. Guida's recent publications (2025) demonstrate a strong focus on diagnostic imaging techniques for skin conditions, therapeutic interventions for acne scarring, skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, and the intersection of nutrition with dermatological diseases. She has previously served on the editorial board of Dermatology Practical & Conceptual (2018-2019). She is an active member of several professional societies including the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), SIDeMaST, International Dermoscopy Society (IDS), Intergruppo Melanoma Italiano (IMI), and Associazione di Dermatologia Pediatrica (ADP).
