Stefani Abreu is a Lecturer at Pennsylvania State University in the Department of Kinesiology and holds a parallel role as Adjunct Instructor in Health Humanities. Her work bridges exercise science, mindfulness practices, and technological innovation to address wellness and performance in diverse populations.

Her research focuses on heart rate variability and recovery mechanisms in student-athletes, the integration of mindfulness-informed photovoice for stress management in university students, and the impact of virtual reality on stress reduction and performance optimization. She also investigates mindfulness-based interventions for anxiety and depression in women with Multiple Sclerosis, as well as perceived exertion differences between outdoor and indoor exercise environments.
Stefani's 2024 publication in the IEEE Conference on Collaboration and Internet Computing explores virtual reality's role in stress management for students, aligning with her broader work in technology-driven wellness solutions and exercise physiology. Her certifications include Sports Nutrition Coaching, Mediation and Mindfulness Instruction, and specialized training in corrective exercise and functional movement.
She teaches courses such as Kines 61: Fitness Theory and Practice, Kines 101: Biophysical Foundations of Human Movement Science, Kines 88: Varsity Sport Experience, and Kines 85N: The Art and Science of Balancing Wellness.
