معرفی
Stefanakis Alexandros is an Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Crete's School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, focused on advancing sustainable environmental technologies. His research emphasizes constructed wetlands, water reuse, circular economy frameworks, and climate-resilient infrastructure. He leads projects in hot/arid regions, including large-scale constructed wetlands for Red Sea communities and oilfield wastewater treatment systems.
Research Interests span wastewater treatment innovations, ecological engineering solutions for resource recovery, and policy integration of circular economy principles. Recent work explores biochar applications, sludge treatment systems, and socio-ecological equity in global waste trade.
Key Contributions include optimizing hydraulic designs for arid climate treatment wetlands, evaluating bio-inspired networks for waste metal trade analysis, and developing circular models for produced water management. His work bridges engineering practices with policy frameworks to address water-energy-food nexus challenges.
Labs/Teams: Engaged in eco-engineering research groups at TUC, collaborating on EU-funded projects related to green infrastructure and Mediterranean sustainability initiatives. Office: Κ3.23/Α1 Building Κ3, Technical University of Crete.
