معرفی
Stefan Zahn is a Research Professor and Coordinator of the Modeling and Simulation Department at the Leibniz Institute for Surface Modification (IOM) in Leipzig, Germany. His work focuses on computational approaches to electron/photon-induced processes and solvent systems.
Education & Career:
- 2006: Diploma thesis (Friedrich Schiller University Jena)
- 2007–2011: Doctorate (University of Leipzig)
- 2011–2018: Postdoctoral positions (Leipzig, Monash, Giessen)
- Since 2018: Group Leader at IOM
- Since 2021: Department Coordinator
Research: Specializes in quantum chemical calculations and molecular dynamics for ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents, examining charge dynamics, non-ideal mixing, and intermolecular interactions. His publications demonstrate consistent focus on solvent behavior from molecular to thermodynamic scales.
Awards:
- DSM Science & Technology Awards Finalist (2011)
Grants & Projects:
- DFG: 'Molecular secrets of deep eutectic solvents' (2020–present)
- DFG: 'Efficiency of p-type dye-sensitized solar cells' (2015–2018)
Teaching: Courses at Leipzig and Giessen universities covering theoretical chemistry, quantum methods, and mathematics for chemists.
