Stefan Trautmann is an Associate Professor at Tilburg University's Department of Economics within the Tilburg School of Economics and Management. He concurrently holds a full professorship in Behavioral Finance at Heidelberg University (2014–2045). His research focuses on decision making under uncertainty, social preferences, and the psychology of economic behavior, with contributions to leading journals such as the American Economic Review and Psychological Science.
Education: PhD in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam (2009), postdoc at Tilburg University's Department of Social Psychology. Key awards include the Heinrich-Wiemer-Prize for Economics (2024) and Pierson medal (2012).
Editorial roles include associate editorships at Management Science, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, and Journal of Risk and Uncertainty. His recent work addresses algorithm aversion, inflation expectations, and grit's role in decision consistency.
