Stefan Schöf

Stefan Schöf serves as Professor and Chair of Computer Science at Jade University of Applied Sciences, Oldenburg, and is an active member of the Institute for Applied Informatics and Geoinformation (IAPG).

His research bridges Computer Science and Geoinformatics, with core expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data applications. Recent thesis supervision highlights innovative work in historical text analysis using large language models, renewable energy control via Safe Reinforcement Learning, and multi-agent spatiotemporal modeling for urban heat planning.

Prof. Schöf has mentored student theses continuously from 2004 to 2025 across programs including M.Sc. Geoinformation Sciences and B.Eng. Industrial Engineering Geoinformation. His industry collaborations include con terra GmbH, focusing on practical implementations of web-based big data solutions and sonar-GIS integration.
