Stefan Remy

Prof. Stefan Remy is the Director of the Leibniz Institute of Neurobiology (LIN) since January 9, 2020, succeeding Prof. Eckart Gundelfinger. A physician and neuroscientist, he previously led a group at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Bonn. His research focuses on neuronal activation patterns controlling behavior and memory mechanisms. At LIN, he established the 'Cellular Neuroscience' department, aiming to decode memory through digitalization and advance Magdeburg's neuroscience hub.

Research Interests: Remy explores how neuronal patterns influence behavior and memory formation. His work integrates computational approaches to understand brain complexity, emphasizing translational research into neurodegenerative diseases. He envisions leveraging digital tools to uncover memory's neural basis.
