Stefan Przigoda

Dr. Stefan Przigoda is a PartTime Lecturer at the Faculty of Historical Sciences, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, and serves as Head of the Bergbau-Archive Bochum and Deputy Head of the Library and Photo Library departments at montan.dok (Montanhistorisches Dokumentationszentrum) since 2003. He studied History, Political Science, and Journalism in Mainz and Berlin, focusing his PhD on the history of business associations in the Ruhr coal industry.

His research spans the Social, Economic, and Corporate History of Mining, with a focus on industrial associations, audiovisual records (especially industrial films), and archival practices in economic contexts. Recent publications address industrial heritage (e.g., 'Schwarzes Gold'), labor dynamics ('Konflikt – Mitbestimmung – Sozialpartnerschaft'), environmental history ('Luft', 'Wasser'), and geopolitical resource extraction (Bäreninsel mining studies). His work bridges academic research and public engagement through museum exhibitions and collaborative projects.
