Technical University of Munichمعرفی
Stefan Pokorski is a Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of Warsaw since 1978, leading the Chair for Theory of Particles and Elementary Interactions. He holds a Hans Fischer Senior Fellowship at TUM-IAS since 2010. His research focuses on theoretical physics of elementary interactions, particularly physics beyond the Standard Model, including dark matter origins and electroweak symmetry breaking. He has held research positions at CERN, Fermilab, and the Max Planck Institute. Notable awards include the Humboldt Research Award (2003) and membership in the Polish Academy of Sciences (2004).
Education:
- Master of Science in Physics, University of Warsaw (1964)
- Ph.D. in Physics, University of Warsaw (1967)
- Habilitation (Doctor of Science), University of Warsaw (1971)
Research Highlights: Investigation of supersymmetric models, neutrino physics, and cosmological implications of particle physics. His work bridges particle physics with cosmological questions like dark matter and matter-antimatter asymmetry.
Awards:
- Marian Smoluchowski Medal (Polish Physical Society, 2003)
- Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2002)
- Member of Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences (2001)
Recent Publications (as TUM-IAS Fellow):
- "Universal constraints on low-energy flavor models" (2012)
- "FCNC effects in a minimal theory of fermion masses" (2011)
