Stefan Kramer

Stefan Kramer is a Full Professor at the Institute of Computer Science, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He holds leadership roles including Spokesperson of the DeCoDeML network and involvement in initiatives like the Plattform Lernende Systeme. His research focuses on data mining, machine learning, computational sustainability, and bioinformatics, with over 200 peer-reviewed publications. Kramer has supervised numerous theses and secured significant funding from EU, DFG, BMBF, and industry. Awards include Best Paper recognitions at KDD, ICDM, and ICBK conferences. He actively contributes to academic governance and interdisciplinary collaborations, leading the Institute of Computer Science from 2016–2018. His work emphasizes privacy-preserving techniques, interpretable models, and applications in social good.
