Prof. Dr. Stefan Antusch is a Full Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of Basel, heading the Physics Studies Committee and leading the FG Antusch research group. He has held academic positions including Max Planck Research Group leader (2007-2011) and became a Full Professor in 2020.
Education: Diploma and PhD from TU Munich, followed by postdoctoral research at Universities of Southampton and Autónoma de Madrid. Research focuses on unified theories of fundamental forces, neutrino physics, and early universe cosmology. His work explores particle theories of the early universe, grand unified theories (GUTs), and neutrino mass mechanisms.
Key research themes include heavy neutrino-antineutrino oscillations, gravitational wave signatures from cosmic strings, and SUSY GUT model predictions. He collaborates on major experiments like DUNE and the FCC, contributing to detector design and physics analysis.
Advises honors students in theoretical physics and has mentored over 15 students since 2018. Active in academic leadership roles, including coordinating the Honors Track program and representing Switzerland in international collider initiatives like the CEPC and FCC projects.
