Stanley Bilatto is a Visiting Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Chicago, affiliated with the Rowan Group under Stuart Rowan and Shrayesh Patel. His research focuses on porous materials for thermoelectric applications, supported by a FAPESP Fellowship Grant. Previously, he held postdoctoral positions at Embrapa Instrumentation and a PhD at the Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil, where he developed electrochemical biosensors and 3D printed structures for agricultural applications.
Education:
- PhD in Physical Chemistry, Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil (2016)
- Visiting Scholarship at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany (2015)
Research Interests: Stanley’s work spans biosensors using conductive polymers, cellulose nanocrystals, and nanotechnology for agricultural and energy applications. His current research at the Rowan Group explores porous materials in thermoelectric devices, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to material design and functionality.
Awards:
- FAPESP Fellowship Grant (2020–present)
Grants & Collaborations: His FAPESP-funded project bridges nanotechnology and energy materials under the supervision of Stuart Rowan and Shrayesh Patel. Earlier collaborations included work at Embrapa on cellulose nanocrystals under Dr. Cristiane Sanchez Farinas and Prof. Bernhard Wolfrum at Jülich.
