Stamatis Charalambos

Stamatis Charalambos serves as a Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at the University of Ioannina, actively contributing to both academic instruction and research within the Biotechnology Laboratory.

His research spans Applied Biocatalysis, Biotransformations, Nanobiotechnology, Molecular Biotechnology, and Bioprocesses, focusing on industrial applications of biological systems through enzyme engineering and nanoscale biotechnological innovations. This work integrates biochemical principles with advanced engineering techniques to develop sustainable bioprocess solutions.

Professor Charalambos teaches core courses including Biotechnology Theory, Biochemical Engineering, Enzyme Biotechnology and Nanobiotechnology, and Bioprocess Engineering. His laboratory operations are centered in Building E2 (1st floor), where daily research activities occur from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, supported by dedicated laboratory facilities and equipment.
